Alfa Romeo Alfetta was launched amongst the mid segment cars in 1972. It was then available in 3 versions 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 Liter petrol engine and 2.0-liter diesel engine. The Italian Prime minister Aldo Coro declared it as the official escort car. The car generated 129 BHP then and it got modifications in the years 1974, 1976 and 1979. The car evolved into Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT in 1974 and there were two versions 1.6L and 1.8L in petrol. It is the fastback coupe car used for rallying and this car provided the base for the racing car models. The car got its last facelift in the year 1984 when it got diesel 2.4L fuel injection engine that brought real performance in the car.
