Subaru Forester- The Chevrolet of India Since 1997, it was manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industries and was sold under Subaru brand. Forester shares its platform with the Impreza. It grew a medium size SUV after 10years of the production. The first generation was introduced between 1997 and 2002. It has four main models in Australia named as GX, Limited, Special Edition and GT. Second generation was introduced in between 2003 and 2008. In 2004, Subaru launched STI variant of foresters. SG as a facelift was given by Subaru in 2006 model year. In 2006, the award given to turbo engine was the International Engine of the Year. The forester was sold in India as Chevrolet. The third generation was introduced between 2008 and 2013. It is Bluetooth compatible with surround sound enhancement. A new grille insert was received by Subaru in model year 2010 and 2011. Forth generation was introduced in 2012. It has increased the fuel economy and the size too. Awards given to it are Car and Driver’s Best Small SUV in 2004, 2005, 2006. This was also the winner of Wheels gold Cars Star award in 2008 for best compact SUV and winner of Motor Trend port or utility of the year award in 2009.
