The French automaker Peugeot produced another gem of a machine in the Peugeot 404. The large family car was introduced way back in 1960 as a successor to Peugeot 403. The car was designed by the French car design firm Pininfarina. It was also manufactured out of Europe; in fact it lasted longer in the foreign markets than in the home markets. It was manufactured in Australia, Canada, Kenya, Chile, etc. The car was manufactured until 1980 in Argentina and until 1991 in Kenya. The car had great success worldwide. The sales of this French masterpiece were counted to be 1,847,568 in France whereas its worldwide sales were counted as 2,885,374 units. The Peugeot 404 was famous as a taxicab. The car also went through several upgradations and enhancements for its betterment. The car has also won a few racing competitions including the Safari Rally in 1963 and then from 1966 to 1968.
