Jaguar XJS is a grand tourer manufactured by Jaguar cars from 1975 – 1996. The first series of Jaguar XJS (1975 - 1980) is powered by a 5.3 liters Jaguar V12 petrol engine. It was initially available in manual and automatic transmission but they later removed the manual option. Jaguar XJS can accelerate to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 7.6 seconds. It can travel at the maximum speed of 143 mph (230 km/h). About 14,800 units were built from 1975 – 1980. In 1981, the XJS is upgraded with a high efficiency engine that offers better fuel economy and horsepower. The 1981 XJS model is equipped with new five spoke alloy wheels, and chrome inserts. The 1981 model is available as 2 door coupe, 2 door targa convertible and 2 door full convertible.
