Wanderer Company was from Germany and it made bicycles, motorcycles and cars. It was popular for its automobile machinery and it is one of the oldest companies to establish in automobile manufacturing industry. It was established as Winklhofer and Jaenicke in 1896. It was known as Wanderer from 1911.
Wanderer W was a popular car in its time. The first models were two or three seaters and were based on four cylinder engines with 1145 cc and 1220 cc capacity respectively. The 1220 cc more powerful variant lasted until year 1925. The company launched its 6-cylinder variant in the year 1928. There were auto unions of this car making company with Horch, Audi and DKW.
The company also launched its 1692 cc variant with four cylinders. Audi car was fitted with Wanderer 1963 CC engine in 1933.
