Ford Fairlane--The Bond Car

Erstwhile Ford model Crestline was named Ford Fairlane in 1955 which

 had  on its side stainless-steel "Fairlane stripe" as it's Trademark

Ford Fairlane came in six different styles.One with tinted, transparent plastic roof;

another a coupe; a convertible, and some sedans in traditional moulds.

The 292 Y-Block was offered as an option and was called the Thunderbird V-8.

In the year 1957, an advanced model 'Ford Fairlane 500 Club Victoria'

was announced, with a shorter wheelbase, though the engine remained unchanged.

Later in the same year, Fairlane 500 Skyliner made its entry. It was a

convertible.  But this model took up almost all the trunk space when retracted. 

 Also it cost a bomb. Hence, it created more hype than sales. So, it was

re-styled to have a shorter roof and larger trunk.

Few people know that a Fairlane featured in two James Bond films: 'Thunderball'

and ' Die Another Day'.
